| Balcony pool! |
We stayed two more days in Phnom Penh, mainly because I had to wait for results of health tests and rest. On Monday our principal activity was to change hotel, to another nice hotel one street from the last one. We left a great double room in a hotel with a swimming pool to go to a stylish room with a balcony and a private pool. We also went to a big market and had drinks in the French culture office. It was the only time I was able to speak French when ordering.

The day after Katie had a cookery lesson in the morning, she went to the main market with the chef and then prepared Amok, the famous Cambodian dish. I wasn't lucky enough to try it, hopefully I will be able to next time. I recovered from my newly diagnosed "mixed bacteria" and started planning the next part of our trip. In the afternoon we went to the riverside, the main post office built by the French (once again) and a temple. At night, we rushed to the German culture centre to watch a documentary about a Khmer actress (once recognised at Cannes film festival) who has dedicated her life to an orphan school after having been in custody during the Pol Pot period. She was there to ask for funds to maintain the school, it was intense.
