| Jerantut - in Lonely Planet's own words, has "no sites of interest" |
Today we got the bus back to Jerantut at 10am. The local bus which costs £1.40, which the tour operators try to hide from you in order to charge £5. Ha. When we arrived, we had to search for some internet in order to plan the next part of the journey and so ended up in KFC (stop judging me Amy). We couldn't decide if we should get a bus to the coast to save time or ride there, but in the end decided that we had brought our bikes in order to ride them, not to make our lives difficult by annoying bus drivers. So the 165km ride it is.
| My new look |
The rest of the day was spent preparing for tomorrow, buying appropriate snacks etc. We did eat in an amazing restaurant in the evening, which served us some kind of noodle soup made with celery and lamb. It was a family recipe apparently.
One thing we had not realised about this time of year is the fact that it is Ramadan. This means that the Muslim community (60% of Malaysians) do not eat while it is light. Hence most of the restaurants are closed. Luckily I read this in the paper, and we managed to get some takeaway chicken rice and store it in hotel's fridge for the night. We have lunch for tomorrow. Winners again!
Très drôle le riz/poulet dans le frigo de l'hôtel.
ReplyDeleteEn tout cas, ça a l'air d'aller ... Et le blog est à jour yes!
